Microsoft will be keeping preview users up to date

The launch of Windows 10 Technical Preview for Phones has so far been a little rough, reflecting both the scope of the project and the weight of expectation attached. With everything pinned on the success of Windows 10, Microsoft has hyped its new software significantly, as such users are exceptionally eager to get their hands on it as soon as possible.

So far, this has been difficult. With a relatively small list of mostly low-end devices named as supported by the Preview, users with higher-end options have been left a little disillusioned. Aware of this, Microsoft has stated that new updates will be coming relatively thick and fast, with its teams working hard to provide support for all.

Despite this, Gabriel Aul has stated that there will be no new versions of the Technical Preview delivered before at least late February, saying on Twitter,

@chrisinfinland Roughly, we expect new preview builds monthly (and sometimes perhaps faster) from here on out. — Gabriel Aul (@GabeAul) February 13, 2015

With new updates coming monthly, it is to be expected that they will be relatively rich in features and fixes, much as was the case with the previous Developer Preview program for Windows Phone. New updates may even come faster than this once the majority of new features are implemented, in the last few months before the final build is delivered.

As of the moment however, there is unfortunately no word yet on which devices will be the next to be offered support. Currently the teams are working on a fix for higher-end models which will allow them to participate in the Technical Preview, but for the moment it seems that the program will continue to be mostly made available for low-end and mid-range models, as has been seen so far.
